Goals for 2010
I’m writing this on the last day 0f 2009, on a sofa in the better half’s furniture shop.
I plan to finish this in one sitting, so I need all the focus power I have!
This blog is really new so there are no “resolutions” from the previous year to look at, but on the 31st Dec 2010, I’ll surely be coming back to this page, with pride (hopefully).
The reason why the word “resolutions” was in quotes is because 90% of the English population has almost forgotten the real dictionary meaning of the word.
Here’s one from dictionary.com:
res⋅o⋅lu⋅tion [rez-uh-loo-shuh
n]
a resolve or determination: to make a firm resolution to do something.
Nowadays, when people make New Year Resolutions, they do it more like they’re making New Year Wishes, New Year Wants, New Year Hopes, or New Year Prayers.
Alright, “people” definitely includes me.
2009 has been a great year for me, because I…
- finally graduated from University
- started Kaizen Digital Media
- had my first 4-figure months from my online businesses
- travelled to Taiwan & Hong Kong & Indonesia for the first time in my life
- drove to Kuala Lumpur & back in a single day
- created a nice little home office for myself
2010 will be the greatest year to date because I will..
- start making $XX,XXX monthly from Kaizen Digital Media
- make my father’s car business more profitable than it has ever been
- buy an iMac & a MacBook Air too
- start donating consistently to Kiva
- start travelling more and living the 4 hour work week
- pay off my car loan
- become epic in PPV
- become consistently disciplined in practicing routines & the GTD way
- start posting more consistently on my epic blog & helping more newbies get started
- start REALLY treating my projects as a business rather than as a hobby
- never make it onto nickycake’s “Top 10Worst Make Money Online Sites of the Year” list, ever
- get onto Affbuzz
I’ve also made myself a “bucket list” – a list of items i want to do before i kick the bucket:
- master poker
- own a cafe ; i don’t have to make a ton of money with it.
- travel around the world
- master hokkien
- write a book ( a real, physical book)
- learn a little bit of spanish, japanese, and korean
- learn wine-tasting
- sell yerba mate in singapore
Like all goal-setting exercises, setting the goals is half the game, but not nearly enough.
Hopefully I’ll be disciplined enough to fulfill all my goals in 2010.
See you next year!
Have a wonderful, healthy, prosperous and EPIC 2010!
