Top iPhone Apps for Internet Marketers

by on December 29, 2009

So I got myself an iPhone again.

(I sold my iPhone 3G a couple months ago to get a Blackberry Bold.)

I loved the Blackberry Bold primarily because of the awesome keyboard but the apps from iPhone were just too tempting for me.

Quick trivia fact: Did you know Amish Shah uses an iPhone too?

Ed Dale’s passion for anything Apple isn’t a secret anymore so you probably know that too.

I’m no Apple fanboy, but the ability to sync calendars and the awesome apps are turning me into an iPhone fanboy.

Without further ado, here are my favorite apps which I think all Internet Marketers must have:

1) Dropbox – I use Dropbox extensively in my daily activities so having it on the iPhone just makes things that much more convenient.

2) Evernote – I write my nightly and weekly reviews on Evernote so I can write it wherever I am. I also store notes from courses/ebooks here and properly categorize them so they will never get lost.

3) Fring – For a one-stop mobile IM station, which includes Skype, AIM, Gtalk etc

4) Awesome Note – Yeah you already have the default Notes app but Awesome Note is just.. More Awesome! It syncs with Evernote, lets you add pictures etc, and it just looks better.

5) Facebook/Twitterific – Duh.

PPC to CPA Case Study – Part 4

December 29, 2009

This will be the last post for this case study.
The performance of the campaign for the past week was horrible, and I have lost quite abit on this campaign just trying to optimize it, only to realize the bad conversions were due to a factor I couldn’t control.
The campaign started getting profitable again immediately after [...]

PPC to CPA Case Study – Part 3

December 13, 2009

So my Google Adwords account was banned.
Setting up conversion tracking was also a bitch because my AM seems to take ages to do it and kept coming back to me saying there were errors.
Nevermind.
I’m terminating this one.
I don’t want to stop this series so I’m doing something else.
I’m experimenting with a new traffic source and [...]

Google Ban Hammer – Part 2

December 12, 2009

And here’s what Google had to say when I tried to enquire more about why my account got banned.
Hello Kang, As mentioned in our previous email, your Google AdWords account has been suspended. We are unable to revoke your account suspension, and we will [...]

PPC to CPA Case Study – Part 2

December 2, 2009

Quick update to the case study.
I’ve been trying to integrate Prosper202 with LPGen to no avail, which explained the delay in updates.
I’ve given up on the integration for the time being and am just using Prosper with iframes for now.
If that wasn’t enough, the offer I’m trying to promote has frame-breaker code in it, which [...]

John Fancher’s 30 Day “Send an Email Everyday” Series

December 1, 2009

I recently signed up to John Fancher’s 30 Day “Send an Email Everyday” autoresponder series.
What a mouthful.
What it is, is a series of emails from John Fancher for 30 days straight, about autoresponders in general. Being a copywriter, he weaves powerful thoughts and ideas into his emails.
I’m now on day #8 and am looking forward [...]

The Importance of Names

November 30, 2009

I learnt something earlier on today which I thought will be interesting to you guys.
We all know names are important, whether they’re product names or domain names, because they helping in creating a good first impression, and more importantly, in branding.
Not forgetting the fact that having your keyword in your domain name helps tremendously in [...]

Should You Listen To Your Affiliate Managers?

November 30, 2009

AMs, like all things in life, differ in quality from place to place.
Some sincerely want you to succeed, but don’t know how.
Some secretly think you’re an un-intelligent fool taking up his/her precious time, AND have no idea how to make you a better affiliate. (Not that he really cares about that either.)
The only ones that [...]

PPC to CPA Case Study – Part 1

November 23, 2009

Here’s a quick update to my “sophisticated PPC to CPA” case study lol.
I’m trying something different by starting out with Yahoo! for this campaign.
I started a rough and dirty campaign to get some results to tweak from but unfortunately some components were not set up properly so it’s kind of hard for me to tweak [...]

Creative Capitalism

November 18, 2009

If you read my “About Me” page, you already know that I’m a supporter of Kiva.
I recently read two pretty cool books about using capitalism for good:
1) A Billion Bootstraps
2) Creative Capitalism
If you’re also interested in the mechanics of how money can be leverage on a massive scale to help entrepreneurs from third-world countries break [...]

My First Sophisticated PPC to CPA Campaign

November 7, 2009

I just finished setting up my first sophisticated PPC > CPA campaign.
I basically bought a domain name for it, iframed an offer, slapped up Traffic Regenerator, LPGen-ed the iframed page, used Speed PPC to setup the campaign, then uploaded it onto Adwords Editor.
I thought I could probably make this an interesting case study of sorts, [...]

Google Truth?

November 7, 2009

I’ve bought almost everything that .X. releases.
I find that the way he writes is a little bit too cocky for my liking sometimes, but there’s no doubt that he knows what he’s talking about.
When he talks, I listen.
He recently wrote a short report on how to counter the notorious Google Slap.
It’s super cheap too.

My Favorite SEO Software – On Crack!

November 7, 2009

Brute Force SEO is my SEO software.
I’ve used it not only for the promotion of my own sites, but also for SEM projects for clients.
It’s a really neat piece of software that automates much of the link-building process; really, the most boring and time-consuming part of projects.
Back in the days when Brute Force SEO was [...]

Why You Should Link to Other Sites

November 1, 2009

I’m now reading Chris Anderson’s latest book, “FREE”.
Alot of it has to do with what we as internet marketers do online, so I highly recommend you buy it or borrow it from your local library when you have the chance.
I think he published the book online as well, but since I hate reading long-drawn books [...]

Comparison between the Big 3 Networks

October 25, 2009

I just stumbled upon a great blog about PPC Affiliate Marketing today.
One post that stood out was the one that compared the results of campaigns run on 13 PPC Networks.
Most affiliate marketers are still trying hard to make things work with Google so that leaves “insiders” an opportunity to work the other networks.
Personally I won’t [...]

Hydra Network is Cute

October 7, 2009

Stumbled upon the origins of the name “Hydra” as I was checking through their FAQ for some time-zone related stuff.
I never realized that Hydra has a cute profile page here:
http://www.hydranetwork.com/faq_hydra/
It’s about what the name “Hydra” actually meant when it was started as a small company.
The paragraph gives me a little warm fuzzy feeling that I [...]

Ed Dale on “Struggling”

October 4, 2009

A pretty awesome post by Ed Dale about productivity and getting things done.
Well, he didn’t actually mean for it to be a post about productivity and getting things done by somehow it provides several nuggets in that aspect.
What I Want Thirty Day Challenge Plus To Be…
I have at least two lofty goals for you. None [...]
